Party On!
We chose to have Keira's party at Miracle Bowl because we wanted to have something fun for our guests to do instead of just sitting around watching Keira fling cake. It turned out to be the perfect idea. We got a ton of compliments and everyone seemed to have a great time. I might have to scale back and do something a bit calmer next year, if only so I have more time to visit with everyone.
A face only the parents could love... She did a great job with the cake flinging though, so proud!!
Our best girls, we have no words to express how much we love them and how glad we are that they love us too.
Can you believe all these folks belong to us?
The most beautiful pregnant lady in the whole wide world. Maybe next time she'll actually be able to bowl with us. I also wanted to take this opportunity to post a picture of Kim because she threatened to hurt me for even taking it. :)
Thank you again to all our friends and family. You are all so incredibly generous with your time and love. We hope you know how much you mean to us.

ONEderful!!
Our sweet angel is now the big O - N - E! We cannot believe how quickly she is growing and changing or how quickly the time is passing. She is truly adored by her whole family and is not afraid to be the center of attention. I will post the pictures from her birthday party in the next day or two.

A Very Merry Un-Birthday
As of yesterday, my sweet baby is now six months old. Although I am sad that she is growing so quickly, I am truly amazed at how much she has learned. I am so blessed to get to stay home with her and witness these all the little moments that we wanted so desperately.
Here are a couple of the pictures that we did to mark her sixth month un-birthday.
The pretty one to convince everyone what an angel our sweet girl is,
the true reflection of her personality,
and finally, a little something to make you smile.

A Blessed Life
Every baby is a blessing and for that reason it truly has been a blessed year. This little beauty is Ryley. She is the daughter of my dearest friend Mackenzie, as well as being Keira's best friend (the mommy's decree it). She was born during this last trip home for us and we are so glad that we got to meet her on her birthday. When I found out that Tom and I were having a daughter, I told Mackenzie that her little one had better be a girl too, because I was not going to be able to take this journey without her. I am so glad that she agreed with me and that our little girls are going to grow up together. Welcome to the family Ryley, we love you so much already.
We held Keira's blessing on May 6th, at Tom's brother's home. We are so grateful to them for opening their home to such a large group and all the work they did to help make the blessing so special. We were surrounded by family and friends and it was truly a day to remember. My step dad was the one to perform the actual blessing and I think he did an amazing job (I bawled like a baby because of the things he said). He inherited three grown children when he married my mom, but he has always treated us as his own. He is such a good man, I am so lucky to have him in my life.
As you all know, Tom and I are not super religious people, but we wanted Keira to have the same basic foundation as her brothers and sister. The choice will be hers if she wants to get baptized or have further involvement in the church as she grows up.
The new look of our family. Can you believe how big the kids are getting?? Austin is now taller than I am and Eric will be bigger than Arianna in no time at all..
Our beautiful little lady with the Mommy and Daddy.
This is my attempt to recreate a photo that was taken of my mom and I on the day that I was blessed. It was a beautiful day and we were happy to have almost everyone that we love with us. There were a few people that could not be there physically, but they were certainly with us in spirit. Thank you so much to everyone who made the trip to be with us.

Because Kim said so
My dear friend Kim said I HAD to post pictures of my belly, so here they are! I wish that I had done my hair and maybe put on a bit of makeup but it was Christmas morning, so this is as glamorous as it gets.

Big Apple Babies
We were very lucky to get to have the kids fly up for Christmas, especially since I am unable to fly right now. We have them with us for the whole winter break, but had to trade away our time with them next year to make it all work. That's the way it goes I guess.. It was worth it to have them here with us so close to the baby coming as well as sharing the holiday season with them. Here is a random sampling of the fun stuff we did while we were together.
Tom and I at Radio City Music Hall. He took me to see the Rockettes again on Thanksgiving. I absolutely loved the show and I loved being able to say that Keira went to the show too, even if she was still hanging out inside of me.
Anna and Eric checking out the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty.
I think this lady is hiding something... Is it just me or do she seem a little round in the middle? Maybe I am just seeing pregnant ladies everywhere...

Showered with Love
My dearest friend Mackenzie was so kind as to offer to host a baby shower in honor of our little miracle. (Hopefully she didn't feel obligated, as we are naming the baby after her) She is a fantastic friend and I will never feel like I deserve all that she has done for me in the years we've known each other. Kenzie also invited Arianna to be the co-host of the shower and the two of them worked their butts off to make sure it was a special celebration and they truly did a fantastic job. Thank you both for everything!
Magenta, silver and black the perfect colors for a chic baby shower.
My contribution to my shower.. The cake was crafted by the same lady that did our wedding cake for the vow renewal ceremony in Vegas, she is a cake genius and I was craving this almond poppy seed masterpiece. I never dreamed it would turn out so beautiful.

Bowlin' with the Homies..
Ha ha, funny right?!
While Tom's family was in town at the end of May for Jared's graduation, his parent's decided to round up all the grand kids and available parents for a little competition. There was quite a bit of (good-natured) trash-talking and screaming, but it was so much fun to have most of his siblings and their spouses in town and spending so much time together. I had every intention of taking more pictures, but the camera battery died right after I took this one, so I guess I'm lucky to have gotten the one.
Becky, Doug and Alex.. We loved having you stay with us and you're welcome anytime. The kids had a blast with Alex here and we'd love to get to spend more time with all of you!

Happy Mother's Day
Having a child does not make you a mother, raising one does.

We are truly indebted to all the incredible women in our lives who work so hard to take care of us each and every day, whether they gave birth to us or not. I am very lucky to know and love quite a few amazing women and feel so blessed that they love me in return.
Happy Mother's Day.

Ice Ice Birthday
So Tom's birthday has come and gone and I never did a post for him, I feel terrible about that. It is just so hard to find the motivation to blog about the things happening in our lives when we are spending so much time apart. I promise to try and do better.
Tom and I have been talking about taking the kids ice-skating for awhile, so we decided his birthday would be a great time to do it. He even bought a pair of ice-skates as a gift to himself. The kids and I got him a new wallet and a DVD set of the Zatoichi movies (the coolest samurai movies ever!) Here are some pictures from our super-fun day.
Tom, we hope you had a great birthday.
Tom and I sharing a quiet moment. I have pictures of our feet together from most of our vacations. I don't know why, but they make me smile.
